Transforming Lives of the Differently-Abled

  • In partnership with Cheshire Disability Trust, we focus on the livelihood development of persons with disabilities (PwDs). In FY 24–25, about 300 individuals with orthopaedic and auditory impairments were trained in skills such as communication, basic computer literacy, and more at Jamshedpur, Hazaribagh, Ranchi, and Varanasi.

Following their training, these individuals were placed in sectors such as retail, banking, and ITeS, with an average monthly salary of around ₹9,000. Some of the employers who have hired our beneficiaries include TATA Motors, Amazon, etc.

  • Self-employment opportunities for the orthopaedically challenged were provided in association with CDT, Neomotion, and Zomato. Ten beneficiaries who had severe orthopaedic impairments were offered training on digital know-how, basic computers, English communication, and soft skills to take up the intended employment.

They were provided with Neomotion vehicles and employed at Zomato as delivery partners. This employment opportunity has enabled them to earn an average salary of ₹12,000 per month, besides enjoying flexible work hours.

  • With ProVision Asia, the Bank has been supporting orthopaedically challenged beneficiaries with wheelchairs. Besides providing wheelchairs to 50 PwDs from the underprivileged sector, the Bank has offered 10 sports wheelchairs to sportsmen and women who have made their mark at the state and national level in tennis and basketball.

Uplifting Marginalized Youth

  • The Bank has been associated with Divya Nur Foundation and, in collaboration, provided livelihood training to the youths of marginalized communities—imparting employability skills such as communication skills, behavioural skills, computer literacy, etc., and placing them in the retail, banking, and ITeS sectors with an average monthly salary of ₹10,000. The Bank has trained about 400+ beneficiaries thus far and placed about 72% of them.

Our other livelihood interventions:

Other livelihood development programs include:

  • Provision of vans to the intellectually challenged beneficiaries of Maithree
  • Academic scholarships to underprivileged students pursuing vocational courses through the Calcutta Social Project
  • Supporting Earth Care Foundation’s Udaan 2.0 program in coaching students who aspire to appear for competitive exams

Empowering Women

  • AALI: Partnering with the Association for Advocacy and Legal Initiatives, we have provided sewing machines to 22 women who are survivors of domestic violence, enabling them to generate their own income.
  • Savera Society: Our collaboration with Savera Society in Purnea, Bihar, has led to the installation of 16 machines for manufacturing biodegradable jute and banana fiber products. This initiative not only empowers rural women but also promotes sustainable practices by training more individuals in eco-friendly product creation.

Our initiatives are designed to create lasting, positive change in communities as we expand our reach—transforming lives one project at a time, paving the way to a brighter future for all.
