Ujjivan firmly believes that education is the most effective tool for achieving sustainable societal transformation. The Bank acknowledges the significant disparity in access to equal educational opportunities among disadvantaged segments of society. Through the flagship initiative, Chote Kadam, the Bank has provided essential infrastructural support to various Government schools, Anganwadis, Orphanages, etc. Ujjivan is committed to addressing the academic needs of transgender individuals, intellectually challenged students besides the children enrolled in government schools.

Key Initiatives

  • Bridging Digital Divide with Pi Jam: Continuing the support to Pi Jam Foundation for the second consecutive year in training the teachers and developing model teachers towards bridging the digital divide across the Government & Zilla panchayat schools across Satara and Sangli districts of Maharashtra, the Bank has extended its outreach to establish Pi Labs at the selective districts of Uttar Pradesh (Khurja, Bulandshahr and Hapur) to impart digital literacy/teaching skills to the teachers of the Govt/Zilla panchayat schools.
  • Scholarships for Transgender Students with Buddy4Study Foundation: In line with our commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion, we have provided educational scholarships to 50 transgender students in partnership with Buddy4Study Foundation.

Promoting Sports for Holistic Development

  • Imparting behavioural skills through Frisbee Sports education with Flying Disc Development Foundation: The NGO strongly believes that Sports is an excellent tool to impart behavioural skills in the children. Through the frisbee game, the children of the urban slum communities are brought together to a public park weekly thrice to get trained on the Frisbee game through which essential life skills such as team work, empathy, resilience, discipline, treating the other genders with respect, coordination, emotional regulation are taught.

The NGO uses positive reinforcements for motivating the students. About 150 children have been offered such education in Delhi NCR.
  • Sponsorship with Mary Kom Boxing Foundation: Continuing our support to the 10 boxing athletes with training sponsorship, competition participation, and nutritional needs who have made their mark at the state and national championships.
  • Equipment Donations to Orphanages: We provided sports equipment to children at Lotus Petal Foundation in Sohna and Sanmathi Balanikethan in Pune. A large-scale sports competition involving 100+ volunteers was held at Sanmathi, fostering sportsmanship and camaraderie among the kids.

Through these initiatives, Ujjivan goes beyond providing education and support—we empower communities and nurture future leaders, uplifting lives through learning and holistic development.
